Jerry and I are so very sorry to learn, only since January 13, of the passing of our friend and co-worker. Jerry worked with George for roughly 30 years and I for about 7 years. George was very passionate with his work and we always had good chats on many things. He always spoke his mind but had a kind and good heart. George played the bagpipes at our wedding and introduced us to “hagus”. He will always be remembered and missed. We wish we had known of his illness and subsequent passing much sooner. We send our sincere condolences to George’s family. May God bless you.

I am very sorry to hear of George's passing. I will remember him as a person who was extremely passionate and steadfast in his beliefs. I enjoyed working for and with George at Holyrood I always appreciated his candor, advice and his humor as he told an occasional Scottish joke!
I'm sure he will be missed by those who loved him, and I express my deepest condolences to his family.
May he rest peacefully.

I first met George when I was interim minister at St. Peter’s. He used to be a regular reader, but did not want to read anymore. Soon I missed him in the pew. I visited him a few times for home communion. He was always pleased to see me and we chatted quietly while his wife served us tea. I was disappointed I did not hear him play the bagpipes. He had many books of war stories and like to watch war stories on TV. He was a gentle soul and when I knew him he spoke little and appeared to be a private person with a warm smile. He was cared for well at home and I only visited him once at Pleasant Towers. I will always remember him as a pleasant person who was always spoken well about by the people who knew him in the community. To James and others in the family I send my condolences and may your memories of him linger long and helpful as you grieve your loss. George, rest in peace.

We we so sad to read of George's passing. George and my father Edwin Kennedy were great friends and brethren in the Masonic at Avalon Lodge. Dad passed in June 2022.
George played bagpipes at our wedding and reception 26 years ago.
I know that George's love of NL also included the love of Kilmarnock, Scotland. My husband is from Lanarkshire, just East of there. When they chatted I'd always stand back a little and admire how their scots accents would refresh themselves!
Our deepest condolences.
Peace, perfect peace.

To the Moore family,
My sincere condolences to you all. I first met George through the Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews back in the early 1990s. He selflessly gave his time and talent to many service projects over the years. He was a well-known piper--no one could play a lament like him. In 2010, he led the procession by piping from the historic church to the new church in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the parish of St. John the Evangelist in Topsail. The then Primate of the Anglican Church, Fred Hiltz made a point to meet with George after the service and to chat and thank him for his gift of music. George Moore was a true gentleman. My prayers are with you all. May he rest in peace.

George Moore was a gentle very proud Scotsman who when his first wife passed he found love again with his second wife Lynn Haines
He has 5 step daughters whom he loved Sherry,Michelle,,Corrina, Lisa and Megan. Four grandchildren Adrian,Karla,Estelle, and Erik whom he adored. We all joined him in his lives for Supper dinners, haggis nights,,pancake breakfasts, carolle singing at the lodge. He was so intelligent and loved his bagpipes. We are all missing him so much. God rest his soul. Xo

To the Moore Family;
On behalf of myself and my mom, Joan, we wish to extend to you our thoughts and prayers of the passing of Mr. Moore. Back in my days of serving on the altar at St. Peter's, especially at the 8:30 services, it was always a pleasure to hear him proclaim one of the scripture readings and to hear his Scottish brogue, which he never lost. Even more exciting was on the occasions when he would play the bagpipes. He was certainly a gentleman, in every sense of the word.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
