This story gets good, trust me.
oh man, Wayne, I've told this story so many times. Love you so much man, you were the kind of guy to drop everything and help someone you didn't even know, and I'm proof.
I met Wayne when I got my first car, a 1990 sunbird and the heater core was fucked. I didn't have a clue how to fix it so Aileen, or her dad, got hold of Wayne and he came down and replaced it on his back in my driveway. Only wanted cost for parts and a half case. Tried to help him best I could but he went to it like a pro talking and explaining to me the whole time.
Well, I needed a ball joint replacement and it needed a control arm assembly or torch out rivets and bolt in a new one. Well... He told me to pay for the part, a case of beer and 20 bucks - this guy is gold.
He fired up the oxy acetylene torch and blew out the old rivets and realized the cv boot caught fire. With this, he points to an old windshield wash container full of water and say pass me that Steve. I pass it to him, he douses the little rubber that's on fire and with that the side of my car goes up in flames reaching the rafters. He runs and grabs an ABC extinguisher and let's it rip, filling the place with toxic powder and smoke. We run out and get a breath of fresh air and he looks at and says "fuck thought that was water." I died laughing and we carried on with the work when the place aired out.
He was there to help and give advice every time I asked even though he only knew I was haddons daughters boyfriend. Good shit Wayne.

Wayne was my uncle and best friend. My cousins are like brothers and sisters. I’m still in shock and denial. I can’t tell you how many weekends I spent in Kelligrews through all the 80s and 90s. I always made time to visit him when on holidays from Yellowknife and so happy I did. He was like a dad to me as he was to SO many. He loved kids. Loved playing with squirt guns and hoses with the kids on a hot summer day or throwing around ball or frizbe. He certainly was a kid at heart. He’s going to be missed by us all. He was a true friend to everyone he met. Love you buddy. Until we meet again.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear that Wayne passed away. He has been a customer of ours for the past 10 or 15 years buying his firewood from us. I used to love to have a chat with him when he came to pay for his wood or to order it. Sometimes he used to come on his motorcycle. We will miss him! Heartfelt condolences to all his family and cherish the good memories.

I have many fond memories of Uncle Wayne over the years, especially from childhood. Bottom of Doyle’s Road when the Caplin were rolling in, barbecues, bonfires, laughs and many a generous act and kind word. Family was so important to him and his favourite thing was spending time with those he loved. He will be missed. Rest in peace Uncle Wayne xox

Wayne has been part of my life since 1968 when he was just a boy and I was in grade eleven. Always looking for fun and adventure with his buck- toothed grin and frequent belly laughs. Even then he was a renowned neighbourhood mechanic. Fixed his and his buddies bikes and replaced the brakes on his grandfather's (pa's) gold colored Chevrolet. He was always ready to come to the rescue of anyone who needed rescuing. We shared many laughs and made many great memories over the decades. His passing has left a huge hole in my heart.
Love you Wayne!

I'm very saddened by this big loss. He meant so much to family and friends. I remember going way back, Wayne bringing a Christmas tree to our house, or picking us up a couple of times at school in his Barracuda back in the 70's, and pulling the kids in a little wagon around the campsites in a provincial park, or fixing up my lawnmower a couple of years ago. That's how I think back on Wayne - boundless energy, always working at something, helping you out in whatever ways he could, and always enjoying family and friends. From Nancy and the boys and myself, our heartfelt condolences.

To Samantha, Susan, Roger, Greg and families,
We are so deeply saddened to hear of Wayne’s passing. He wasn’t just a customer of ours, but a very good friend. Wayne would do anything for anyone. He loved a good time and lived life the way he wanted to. We would have many chats and laughs in the shop, along with a lot of laughs and dances when out and about. He was passionate about mechanic work and fixed many cars for our family whenever we needed anything done, even on short notice. Wayne was Wayne, he laughed, he smiled, he was very kind hearted. There are no words we can say to take away the pain, but please know that we are thinking about you all and sending you lots of love and strength during this difficult time. We will certainly miss his smiling face. Our deepest condolences to you all.
