It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wayne Day announce his peaceful passing, at home, on March 4, 2023, in the presence of his loving family.
Predeceased by his mother: Lillian Hickey (Bishop); brother: Gary Hickey, grand-mother: Gertrude Bishop; mother and father-in-law: Olive and Alonzo Holloway, sister-in-law: Judy Collins, brothers-in-law: Lloyd Holloway, Dave Holloway, Wayne Holloway, Dave Collins and Dave Ralph.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife Gail: sons: Chris (Renee) and Chad, daughter: Rosemary (Darrin), grand-children: Ryan (Cassi) and Kaitlyn (Alex) and their mother: Jackie, Alex and his mother: Suzanne, Cameron, Emily, Ben, great-grandson: Austin, brother: Gerry Hickey (Joanne), sisters-in-law: Joan Monk (Cless), Carol Lawrence (Dave), Cheryl Ralph, Linda Howell (Barry), Catherine Meaney, Mary (Forward) Holloway, Mary (Hamlyn) Holloway and Phyllis Holloway, brothers-in-law: Don (Aline) Holloway, Gary (Jos) Holloway and Glenn (Mary) Holloway, special cousins: Derrick Bishop (Cindy) and Holly White (Perry), special family friend: Daniel Nightingale, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Renee Lester and the nurses and staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, Dr. Noreen Fardy at Palliative Care, Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, his family doctor, Dr. Stephen Lee and Community Health Nurse Janice Brown.
