Kevin Gregory LaCour
1937-2022
It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the LaCour family announce the passing on Thursday December 22, 2022 of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother at the age of 85.
He was predeceased by his parents Gregory & Elsie, sister Bernadette, and brothers David & Gerome.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Margaret (nee Butt), daughter Sharon (Tim), sons Sean (Nancy), Shane (Lorna), and Shannon. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren Aaron (Carla), Greg (Kim), Charissa, Giselle (Grant), Michelle (Dylan), Rebecca (Dan), and Claire including great grandchildren Maggie, Russell, and Alex. Along with step-grandchildren Adam (Ashley), Amy (Nicole), and step-great grandchild Sidney. Including very special life long friends Helen Penney, Shirley Foley, and Judy Miller, exceptional neighbors John & Betty Combdon, and a wide circle of friends and relations.
Kevin was a well-known pillar of the central Newfoundland automotive community dedicating nearly five decades helping the motoring public with their repair and service needs. He was an inspiration to those who worked with him and respected by all.
He was a deeply caring family man, devoted friend, witty storyteller, weather buff, and greatly appreciated his time at the family cottage in Fortune Harbour enjoying the seasonal scenery, boating, fires, and socializing with friends and family over hearty meals and libations.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to long time family doctor - Dr. Robert Butler, and the doctors, nurses, & staff of the ER, ICU, and Unit 2A of the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre for the compassion and recent care he received.
Visitation will take place from Central Funeral Homes on Friday, June 2 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Father Tom Duffenais will conduct the funeral service from Central Funeral Homes Chapel in Grand Falls-Windsor on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow after at St. Joseph's Hall. Interment to be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Holyrood on June 5, 2023 at 2:00p.m. with reception to follow at the Star of the Sea Hall in Holyrood.
