It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Katherine “Betty” Cousins at St. Luke’s Homes in St. John’s. The daughter of the late John and Josephine Cousins, Betty grew up in Kelligrews. Leaving to mourn her loving sisters Ellen Pellerin and Johannah Cousins-Malti. Pre-deceased by her siblings William, Anne-Marie, Mary Margaret (Wheeler) and Gerald (Clara). Betty was beloved by her nieces and nephews Krystin, Mara, Beth Ann, Ruth Ellen, John Wayne, Adrian and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews and other relatives. Betty possessed a keen intellect and a sharp sense of humor. Her warmth and generous spirit made her beloved by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. The family truly appreciates the care given to Betty by the wonderful people at the Community Care Centre in Long Pond and in the Community Care Homes in which she lived over several decades. The family is grateful as well to the team at St. Luke’s Homes where she resided over the past year and to the medical team at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Betty was a woman of deep faith. In the midst of her lengthy illness Betty prayed constantly for the healing and good of others. She will be missed. Visitation in Hickeys Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Friday, June 16th, 2023 from 10:30 – 11:30 am. Funeral service in Hickeys Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 12 noon. Interment in St. Edwards Cemetery, Kelligrews.
