Obituary of Amanda Hynes
Greatly beloved by her family and friends Amanda Marie Hynes has left this earth after a courageous difficult battle with appendix cancer. Beautiful, kind, generous and intelligent, Mandy was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a force to be reckoned with, her strength and determination quickly earned her the nickname "Mighty Mouse" and she proved her strength daily as she overcame any adversity that challenged her. Amanda came into this world early as a small and mighty warrior. She proved her determination time and time again as she lived her life her way. Manda completed with honours a diploma in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in English and a minor in Sociology. She worked several jobs but her true passion was in the field of communication, helping others and caring for all animals. Our home, as she grew up, became a safe haven for any creature that needed shelter. Manda would tell her dad "Mr. Coates” that these little visitors were only here for the weekend, but we all knew our home became their forever home. Most days you could find Mandy curled up with her favorite book in front of the fireplace, talking with her mom, or online gaming with her brother and best friend Anthony, her fiance Andy, special cousin Jordan, friend Matt, and all her gaming family. Amanda was a keen observer of human nature, she had a sophisticated and slightly dark sense of humor enjoyed by all who knew her. She was loyal and supportive; an uplifting and comforting presence and a friend to all. She faced her illness fearlessly and with her dark humor and she never succumbed to self-pity, always thinking of others before herself. Amanda Marie was predeceased by her special fur baby Lulu, her brother Nicholas Coates, her grandfather's John Walsh, Robert Lockyer, Kevin Hynes, her Grand Mother Sheila Hynes. Left to celebrate her life with endless memories of love and laughter: her devoted fiance Andy (Doreen, John, Colin, Una), her mom and best friend Patricia Hynes-Coates, Dad Terry Coates, her Father Peter Hynes, her stepmom Nancy Mills Hynes. Brother and partner in crime Anthony, sister Terri Lee (Ava, Skye). Grandmother Patricia Lockyer, her special aunts and uncles Dana, Charlene (Lance, Jordan, Taylor, Addison), Larry (Darlene, Dylan, Stacy), Paul (Patricia), Robert (Judy, Nicole, Sarah), Kathy (Mark, Megan, Kurt), Kim (Robert), Karen (John, Keith), Kevin (Renee, Cole, William), Debbie Hillier, and special friend Matthew Byrne. As well as, a large circle of family, friends and relatives, too many to be named but know we thank you all. Manda will be forever missed by her canine fur babies, Allan, Charlie and Princess Chaos. Special thank you to everyone who has been present throughout this journey with Amanda. A very special thank you to Aunt Dana with profound gratitude for being with us every step of the way. Without your help we would not have been unable to fulfill Amanda's final wishes, for that we are forever grateful. As per Mandy's request, cremation has taken place. Please join the family in sharing any memories of her at Hickey's Funeral Home in Kelligrews on Friday, August 11 (3-7pm), Saturday, August 12 (3-7pm), Sunday, August 13 (10-2). As per Manda's request, in lieu of flowers, Mandy requests donations be made to the Daffodil Place, St. John's. To send a message of condolence, please visit www.hickeysfuneralhome.com
