Lucy Elizabeth Thistle (nee Coates)

 Lucy passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at Chancellor Park on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Robert; her son, Nicky; her parents, James and Alma Coates; her in-laws, Violet and Harold Thistle; and, her sister-in-law, Phyllis Pope. She leaves to celebrate her life with many loving memories her foster son, Charles Renouf (Brenda); foster daughter, Judy Hillier; foster sons George Griffin, Edward Brown and Arnie Riche; brother, David Coates (Renee); sisters-in-law, Gail Thistle (Rick), Sylvia Upshall (Rick); Daphne Manning (Gerard); and brother-in-law, Douglas Thistle (Elaine); nephew Peter Coates (Melissa); special roommate, Sophie Allen; friend, Gail Collins, and many special friends and companions at Chancellor Park. Many thanks to the staff of Third Floor West, Chancellor Park, who provided wonderful care to Lucy during her stay there and especially during her short illness. Funeral service to take place in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 1pm.
