It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather in the presence of family and friends on November 6^th, 2023, age 69 years at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s. Derrick grew up in Upper Gullies, spent years in sales, carpet laying to renovating homes, got to know so many people, was a great talker, knew and talked to everyone he met. Predeceased by his parents: Mabel (Stevenson) and Ernest Lush, brother: Donnie, sister: Ruth, parents-in-law: Mabel and Robert Brett. Leaving to mourn with beautiful and cherished memories are his wife: Pansy, beloved daughter: Valerie (Steve), his adorable grandsons: Cole, Cameron and Cayden, his siblings: Barbara Wall, Linda (Derek Miller), Reg (Carol) Lush, Bob Lush, Beverley Bennett, Ruby (Don) Colbert, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill (Mildred) Brett, Derrick (Melissa) Brett, Joyce (deceased), Eilleen Winsor, Bert Janes (Catherine deceased), Anne (Bill) Lush, Louise (Bill) Saunders, Daphne (Ambrose) Thompson, Linda (Murray) Loveless, Peggy Quinton, Debbie (Perry) Stuckless, his many nephews, nieces and a very special nephew: Rod Bussey (Sheila). Also, a large circle of extended family and friends. We express our deepest gratitude to staff at Dr. H. Funeral service in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies on Friday, November 10^th, 2023, at 11 am. Interment in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Upper Gullies.
