Gerry, Tiffany, Ashley, Stacey and all extended family,
We are so saddened to hear of Maisie’s passing. She was such a beautiful, kind woman who will be missed by so many. We loved to see her come in the store for a chat when she’d be in grabbing her salt meat and vegetables for her big family dinner. We’d always say “Are you sure that’s not too much Maisie?” When we’d be picking out her salt meat. And she’d look at us with those kind eyes and smile and say “My dear you don’t know my crowd!” It was the same with salt fish, she always wanted the biggest one. She certainly loved her family and that was one of the many ways she showed it, by cooking up the big scoffs and having the house full. We are thinking of you all during this difficult time and we hope that special memories like the ones mentioned above, help bring your some comfort in the coming days. I am so sorry to hear of Maisie's departure...way too soon. I also worked many, many shifts with Maisie at the Mini Mart many years ago. We shared lots of laughs together. I remember one time, she was chewing gum and blowing bubbles. I was playing with an elastic band. I pretended I was gonna flick it at her. It accidentally snapped out of my hand but thank God it missed her, or so we thought. After a couple more chews on her gum she took it out of her mouth. The elastic band was tangled with her gum!!! Apparently, it went into her mouth as she was blowing a bubble and neither of us even realized it. We did some laughing!
Please know, I am thinking of you all as you say your farewells to her. You have a very large family so, please stand by each other and hold each other close. Tell lots of happy stories to keep her memory alive. She will forever be with you. Rest in Peace, Maisie.
