With heartfelt condolences to Charmaine's loved ones:
Although Charmaine was a long time friend of my sister, I had only seen her a handful of times over the years. Each time we crossed paths, her words were always kind and often wrapped with humour, but always wrapped with humility. She was a lovely person - genuine through and through. I'm very sad for your loss, today, but absent from the body is (most assuredly) present with the Lord.

I have known Charmaine for many many years. Our journeys with the Lord started at about the same time in the early 70's. I lost touch with her until I came to Victory church - and Charmaine and I would always give each other a hug, and if our paths did not cross I would see her out for my hug. And mind you none of this 5 second hugs - real hugs like we both meant it. She was special and she will be missed. Rest in peace, beautiful sister in the Lord.

My deepest condolences to the Summers family on their loss of such a wonderful person! I have lots of memories of Charmaine, but the one that stands out to me the most is the one where she sang at the Basilica where she was to sing for a wedding, she was anxious about her voice filling the church so that everyone would be able to hear her. When I spoke with her the next day and I asked her how she did and her reply was, "I filled the place!" everyone who was there heard her clear, powerful, voice, which I believe she did! Charmaine had such a kind soul that had a great sense of humor and she wasn't afraid to use it to make you laugh! She will be greatly missed, but she sings in a different choir now! Rest in peace, Charmaine, it was a privilege knowing you!

My deepest condolences to Bob & the Baker Family & of course, the Summers' family. Charmaine brought such joy & life wherever she went! I have had the pleasure of her friendship since 1986 in the fellowship of the Harvester's church. Whenever we would be together, I knew it was going to be a day of adventure, visiting her friends from all walks of life ( I believed she mirrored Jesus in this)! She was such a delight to be with - she radiated the love of Jesus & many were drawn to her wonderful presence filled with compassion & joy! We had so much laughter when she was my Maid of Honour preparing for the Wedding, neither one of us had a clue of what we were doing. Thank goodness for Sid, who took over for us and guided us through. We had an amazing Wedding in which Charmaine sang a wonderful Song - 'This is the day that the Lord has made & I am so glad He made you...' So thankful of all the precious times we shared together & to know that they will continue again in Heaven! I pray peace & comfort on Charmaine's family as they adjust to living without her near but knowing her presence is well & alive in Heaven & always in our hearts forever. God's Blessings to all.

Our sincere condolences to Bob and family and all the Summers family. We were saddened to hear of Charmaine passing. She was a very kind and lovely person. We will miss her conversation and her sweet thoughtfulness in sending us a birthday card every year. The last time we talked she had spoken of feeling ill and tired of it now. Her words, “the other night, I was going to pray for the good Lord to take me.” She passed too young, but, now she is free of all her health problems and stress. Sleep well Charmaine. RIP.

We are so sad to receive this news. Every year, on my birthday, I would receive a card from her. No mater when we lived in Canada or the USA, in December, I would receive a card, of course, it was signed ‘with Love and Laughter’. I know she is singing and laughing with Jesus. Until we meet again dear friend.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Charmaines passing. I have so many wonderful memories and stories surrounding this lady. Her voice was one of the best. She really should of had a record deal. But her fun- loving personality is what lit up a room. She sang at many events for VOAR and volunteered at our Sharathons. We had many a walk around Quidi Vidi back in the day. I happened to see her down there one day, as I was going around, but she had stopped to pray for a young guy with a beer in his hand and the weight of the world on his shoulders. She could have just walked past, but she didn't. I saw my friend in earnest prayer, and the young man started to sob. I waited for her and we both continued the walk together. I may not have been brave enough to stop, but she did. ❤️. RIP sweet lady. The world was so much better because you were in it.

I am so sorry to hear of Charmaine's passing. She was a great person with a wonderful sense of humor.
Numerous times over the years, I had the honour of sharing the stage with Charmaine as she sang and I played drums. She was a powerhouse of a singer and could belt out some of the best vocals I have ever heard. But one song that we played a lot together was "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and Charmaine always brought the house down singing it and I had so much fun playing it with her. It was always a good time being in the band when she sang.
You will be missed Charmaine, Rest easy.

Maurice and I were surprised to hear of Charmaine’s passing and initially saddened.
But, then we remembered!
We remembered the times of laughter around tables of food. Breaking bread both spiritually and physically.
We remembered times of travel over the road on our way to sing at a concert … somewhere.
We remembered the times of ministry shared in worship at church AND then we remembered the WORD of God … absent from the body, present with the LORD! No more sorrow, no more pain and we look forward to that day when there will be no more parting.
We will miss her smile, we will miss her song, we will miss her wisdom, we will miss HER!
Someone posted about her Christmas cards. No matter how many times we moved, (and we did a few times), she found us. Live, love, and laugh!
Bob, Maurice and I didn’t get to know you. But know this; We will hold you up in prayer as you go through this time.
Goodbye for now sweet Charmaine.

In earlier years before Charmaine found it really hard to get around, it was like she was my 7th sister.. She was invited to every family occasion and party that I hosted.
She sang at my wedding and was there for my weeping when it ended some 20 years later in 2019.
She and I had a bond which few can boast of in their lifetime. It was one of complete honesty where we could confide in each other unashamedly thereby giving and receiving frank wisdom from the other.
One birthday party our friends and I had for her, I remember the casseroles were in the oven keeping hot whilst waiting for the guests to arrive. All of a sudden we heard glass breaking in the kitchen only to discover, two of the casserole dish covers had shattered under the top element and we had to discard most of what was in the oven. We ordered pizza. Oh how we laughed!! And singing, oh the sing-a-longs we’ve had over the years. Praising God for His goodness to us in song.
No matter how sick she was or physically unable to get around, she never blamed God. She always knew that He was Sovereign, He knew where she was at any given moment and He wasn’t surprised by what she was going through. She loved Him unconditionally.
I don’t have any answers as to why Charmaine wasn’t healed, but I do know through God’s written word, that she is now safe in the arms of Jesus and has a brand new body. She will never know sickness or pain ever again. That beautiful voice God gifted her, is now more melodious than the angels for she can sing the song of the redeemed which the angels don’t even know! Praise God!
Till we meet again my dear friend!

My sincerest condolences to the Summers and Baker families.
Thank you for loving my father.
When you came into my life, imagine the surprise when we found out that not only had I found a partner amongst the Summers family but so did my father. Both of us having chosen 2nd cousins, unbeknownst to each other. Small world indeed !!
Then later, my youngest daughter Natalie sharing a birthday with Charmaine. I will always remember those Jungle Jim's birthday suppers... 6 of us with birthdays all within weeks of each other.
Charmaine's devotion to her spirituality was second to none and we certainly had a few lively discussions over faith, hers never wavering.
I know that you have found your peace now and will suffer no more.
Rest in Peace, in the arms of your Lord and Savior.
