I remember Nurse Barrett as my mentor, who showed me how much she cared when I scraped my knee at the tender age of three, she took me in and cleaned me up, put on a band aid. She spoke kind loving words to me that day that went far deeper than she could possibly know. She has and will always bring a smile to my face and turn a light on in my heart. To this day I think and speak of her often.
I am deeply saddened for to her family for your great loss. May Nurse Barrett rest in eternity. Hold your memories close to your hearts! I know I always will. ❤️

The earth has lost an Angel. I met her as a kid when she was the "school Nurse". For a kid terrified of needles her gentle care and kind smile enabled me to get the various shots, scratches etc. that we got at school in the 1960's. I came to fully understand just how special she was when my youngest was born and had to spend so much time receiving medical care from 1989 to 1994. He was unfortunately never treated by a nurse that came close to Nurse Barrett's standards. Our loss is Heaven's gain. My condolences to Susan, Maxine and all the family.

Susan and Art and all the Barrett family…..My sincere condolences to you and all of your family on the passing of your beautiful mom. I remember her well as we grew up in Kelligrews. She was a wonderful role model for us all as our caring nurse and girl guide leader. Certainly she had a life well lived. Memories are so special and a real treasure now.

Sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I grew up on Elliott’s Lane and I remember doing my house keeper’s badge for Guides at her house. I had to make a bed, do dishes and dust for your mom. I passed!

Barrett family,
So sad to hear about the passing of Nurse Barrett.
Nurse Barrett was a very important person in our days at St. Georges Elementary School, many years ago. From the brown bag and toothpicks to checking our fingernails , shots and whatever she could do to keep so many children healthy.
Also a excellent role model as a Girl Guide Leader. Many memories of Nurse Barrett. She will be continuing her wonderful work will the little angles.

Sincere condolences to The family
After my first-born who will be 49 this fall, Nurse Barrett came to visit me at home. She took one look at me and said my iron was low. She suggested I take a tablespoon of black strap molasses a day to replenish and get my energy back. It worked. To this day, it’s a remedy I still use and share. God bless.
