Obituary of Michael Doody

Michael Doody,

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his devoted family on April 7^th, 2024. Predeceased by parents: Vince and Emma Doody. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Florence, his loving and devoted daughter: Christine (Brian), his pride and joy grandson: Dillon (Megan), and his precious great-granddaughters: Lila-Rose and Sophie who he adored, brother: Lawrence and many nieces and nephews.

Born on Colinet Island, Michael had the sea in his heart and fished all his life. He could forecast the weather better than any weatherman. Though his family resettled to Admiral’s Beach, his heart was always on Colinet Island and would often tell stories of his youth and antica with the other young fellas. Michael loved “the woods” and spent many days cutting wood, hunting, and trouting. A gifted dancer of the traditional stepdance, he could move those feet with grace and ease. He was always ready to scuff it out when an accordion appeared.

 Michael was a kind and gentle man who loved his family dearly. He would often take his grandson in the woods to set snares, pick berries, and go trouting, making memories that will last a lifetime. A quiet man by nature, ho loved to help others, never complained and made certain that everyone else came first. Our world was truly better having him in it.
