I was shocked to hear of Richard’s passing. Sincere condolences to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Richard was a student of mine when he was in Grade 4. I never forgot him.

To Rick's family, Sherry and family... I am so shocked in just reading about Rick's departure. Although I didn't work directly with him during my insurance career, I had a few chats with him when he would come around the office. In all the years, and there were many, I have never heard an ill word about Rick. Always respected and always a gentleman. So very sorry to learn he's passed...treasure the excellent memories. Rest in peace, Rick.9

We still can’t believe this is real You came into our lives in our early teens and joined our mother in raising us. You have made such an imprint of many lives. The impact you have made and love you have shown will remain in our hearts forever. Missed beyond imagination. Life will definitely not be the same without you. Still can’t believe when we saw you last that would be the last time. We just had amazing celebrations as the triplets celebrated graduation and Mark off to junior high. You’ve been a hands on poppy for every single thing in their lives and many many sporting events. Time that will be forever cherished. Xoxo Rick. Time spent with Rick always was meaningful. It was remarkable that even though he struggled with health issues for so long, he easily could share a laugh and just be good company: I will remember him as generous and dedicated to his family and friends. I can also give him credit for his creativity as he developed and fostered a successful business. Godspeed Rick and eternal joy.

Together me and Rick took a big leap in 1992 and started a small two-person cleaning company. A & R Chem Dry. And added a few in short time we took on Sherry, Craig and Jason. And it grew into a 33+ Under the successful banner of “ A & R Services “. That name is respected to this day. My sincere condolences go out to all Ricks family brother, sisters and extended family. Rick was bigger than life and will be sadly missed we all loved him so . Rest In Peace Rick - Poppy Hickey You are free of pain and flying free.

Nephew, ring bearer, friend and special human! Many visits with Mary and I when he was in Kingston with the Armed Forces. Many visits in St. John’s when I was home over the last few years at family get togethers. When I said special human it’s because of the countless things he did for others. When Mary was nearing the end of her life in 2009 Rick flew his father to Ottawa so Derm could have that one last visit.. Unexpectedly, Rick came the second time to say his goodbyes two nights before her passing and we as a family were deeply grateful. Rick you made this world a better place and it’s now time for a peaceful, painless rest. Well deserved.
