Jean Johnston Dobbie

October 23, 1956 – July 30, 2024

Jean Johnston Dobbie passed peacefully away in her home on July 30, 2024, at the age of 67, after a short but hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by her parents: Hugh and Margaret Dobbie, and her husband of 25 years, Cecil Stoyles.

Left to mourn with much love and precious memories are her son: Craig Stoyles; daughter: Lauren Williams (Sam Niefer); brother: Jim Dobbie (Lynn Doobie); and nephew: Kerr Dobbie (Caitlin Cotter), she will be deeply missed by her four grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely: Tristan Williams, Autumn Williams, Cash Niefer and Louis Niefer. Jean’s beloved dog: Boomer and her cherished cats: Bob, Tamarack and Kehlani, will also miss her dearly. She leaves behind a large extended family and many friends.

Jean will be fondly remembered as a selfless, caring individual who gave generously to all those around her. She was a strong force of nature, embodying kindness, resilience and unwavering love. Born in Airdrie, Scotland, Jean dedicated her life to the noble profession of nursing. Her compassionate nature and desire to help others led others led her to Newfoundland through a nursing program, where she decided to stay and build a life.

Jean’s dedication to her family, friends, and patients was unparalleled. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met, and her legacy of kindness and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
