Our condolences go out to Caroline and the Peach Family. My heart is broken to hear about Furness passing, I have so many wonderful memories growing up with the family. The many sleep overs , Sunday dinners even down to stealing his turnips out of his garden when he wasn't looking. I will cherish those memories forever. You were the most wonderful and loving man to all who knew you, that loved you right back, me being one of them. May God hold the family in the palm of his hand and ease all your pain. You have many waiting for you at the gates of heaven I am sure of that, just as I am sure you will be missed here on earth. To Caroline, Lilly, Furnie, Nancy, Darrin and all extended family members and friends of the Peach family, Maxine and I want to extend our most sincere condolences on the passing of Furness.
Furness, like Caroline and all their children was a very kind hearted and gentle person. He was always present during the many family house building projects lending a hand from mixing cement by hand to doing many other hard labour type jobs. An avid woodsman, he often accompanied us as young fellas in and around the 1000 acre marsh showing us the many cabins and good fishing spots.
I have many memories of listening to his captivating stories over a hand of cards and of course an occasional cold beer.
He was a role model to all, he never had a lot in the material sense of things but was probably the richest man I knew in the love and admiration he had from all who knew him. I was present at a Lodge meeting once when there was a very heated discussion. Furness was coerced into joining the discussion but instead of taking sides, he strategically redirected the conversation in a way which diffused the situation and allowed all to calm down without losing.
I can go on for pages but will stop now and hope you can all draw upon the many many warm and funny memories that you have of him as you cope with this difficult time. His suffering is all over and he’s smiling down on you all. God Bless you and RIP Furness.
