John Murphy

Passed peacefully away on December 5th, 2024, John Richard Murphy of Parkers Cove, at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by his parents: Albert and Susanna Murphy, brothers: Charlie, Pius, Raymond, Kevin, sisters: Magdalen, Hilda, Mercedes, Marion. Left with a lifetime of memories his wife: Cecilia, daughters: Stephanie (Pius), Suzanne (Shawn) and his beloved grandchildren: Noah, Bella, Sophie and Sarah, brother: Thomas (Madeline) and sister: Mary (Ren) and a large circle of family and friends. John always had a funny story to tell about his working days at CP Rail, Churchill Falls and NL Housing Corporation. He was a simple man who enjoyed cooking up a feed in his shed, listening to a few tunes while having a drink. He enjoyed his time wood cutting and catching trout and was a talented accordion player in his younger days. Many thanks to Aurora Estates management and staff for making his stay so comfortable. It was his home for the past two years and we could not have prayed for any better. To all the workers, you were his friends and went above and beyond to make sure "Pop" was cared for. He especially loved all the attention from the girls and the kisses. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in his memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. In his own words, “I may not have had the best in life, but I had a lot of good times.
