Obituary of Joan Petten

 Passed peacefully away at the Intensive Care Unit of the Health Sciences Center on Sunday, 19 January 2025, Joan Elizabeth (Morgan) Petten, aged 80 years. Predeceased by her parents – Eliol & Mary Morgan, her husband – Hayward Petten, daughter – Elizabeth Crewe, son-in-law Tony Crewe, daughter-in-law Anne Morgan, brother – Kenneth Morgan (Ethel), sister – Edna Breen (Michael), as well as other members of the Morgan and Petten Families. Giving thanks for her life and mourning her passing her sons: Greg Morgan (Roxanne Phillips), Markham, ON and The Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten, Deer Lake, NL, grandchild: Nikki Crewe, Pynn’s Brook, NL, brothers Noel (Dulcie) Morgan, St. Catherine’s, ON, and Eric (Beverly) Morgan, (Seal Cove) Conception Bay South, NL.; in addition to nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special note of thanks is extended from the family to Uncle Eric and Aunt Bev, close friends and neighbours and the Staff of Comfort Home Care, Conception Bay South their assistance in taking care of Joan, especially in the last few months. Resting at Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway Conception Bay South, NL on Tuesday, 21 January 2025, and Wednesday, 22 January 2025 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Eucharistic Celebration of Christian Burial will take place from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 1219 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, NL on Thursday 23 January 2025 at 11:00 am. For those who cannot attend the liturgy in person, it will be livestreamed via the St. Peter’s YouTube Channel and the Parish Facebook. Internment will take place following the liturgy in the church cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the regular fund of St. Peter’s Anglican Church.
