Our deepest condolances to the family. Mr. Wicks was a very good friend, we shared many good times around the water, weather it was Seal hunting, Lobster fishing or Cod fishing. He always had a smile and something nice to say. We are very sadened by his passing.
Yvonne,Brian, Shirley, Josephine & Families; Thinking of you all during this very difficult time. When 2013 started little did we know we would lose 2 men who were like brothers to Don. Please know you're in our thoughts and prayers as you gather to celebrate Fred's life.

TO THE FAMILY; I WOULD ALWAYS BUY MY POPPIES FOR REMEMBRANCE DAY FROM MR.WICKS.I GOT TO KNOW HIM OVER THE YEARS AND AND WHEN REMEMBRANCE DAY CAME AROUND EACH YEAR I WOULD WAIT TO SEE IF MR.WICKS WAS THERE SELLING THE POPPIES.I DID NOT NEED ANOTHER POPPY BUT IT WAS A CHANCE TO HAVE A CHAT WITH HIM.HE WAS A VERY KIND AND GENTLE MAN I WILL MISS HIM AND I KNOW THAT HEAVEN HAS GOTTEN ANOTHER ANGEL.REST IN PEACE AND GOD BLESS TO HIS FAMILY.
When I moved to Kennedy's Road in 1980, Fred and Marie were the first people I met. They lived across the road from us and very quickly became like family. They treated us like we were their own. My children fondly called them nanny and poppy Wicks. I had many chats with Fred and Marie over the years some with laughter and some with tears. The highlight each year for me was the Santa visits on Christmas Eve as the photo shows. Fred is finally reunited with Marie and I will always remember Fred as a kind and gentle man with a heart as big as a mountain. His family can rest assured that he will be fondly remembered and loved. Rest in Peace Fred.
