Obituary of Richard Lewis

Lewis Richard (Dick) With faith and hope we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend into eternal rest and peace on February 2, 2014, of Holyrood, age 73 yrs. Dick battled illness for twelve years but his courage, determination and strength was a true inspiration to his family and many friends. He was a retired member of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. Richard is predeceased by: his infant daughter, parents Helen and Richard, mother and father in law, Josephine and James Hickey, sisters in law, Rosaline Lewis and Viola Hickey. Leaving to celebrate his life with many special memories are his loving wife: Marcia, daughter: Carol Anne (Derrick Toope) and grandchildren Jonathan and Jessica whom poppy adored and cherished. Richard is survived by brothers: Dan, Kelligrews and Jerry , St. John's, sisters: Margaret Finn (Edward), Port aux Basques, Barbara Barnes (Nelson Sherrin), St. John's, Mary Lou Whelan (Matthew), St. John's and brother in law James Hickey, Holyrood. Also, many nieces, nephews and special friends. Visitation in Hickey's Funeral Home, Holyrood on Monday and Tuesday 2 - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church, Holyrood on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10 am. Internment in the R. C. Cemetery, Holyrood.
