Nan, although distance has made it difficult to maintain a relationship I valued what little time we spent together. You were obviously a big part in other peoples lives and it's nice to hear about their memories of you. I know now you are with poppy where you have always wanted to be. I'll miss you.
Nan, Well, you're finally next to pop again, exactly where you've wanted to be all these years. I miss you. I've missed you for some time now. Life sometimes takes from you the most precious things, loved ones, your health and worst of all, memories. I long for the days of old, days filled with happy times, baking, playing bingo and delicious meals shared with family. It's been really hard these past few years, watching you slip away gradually, losing memories and such. I can only imagine how tough it's been for you. I love you Nan, always have, always will. Go with peace.
Hello everyone First off I would like to thank everyone here and those who couldn't make for their kind words and thoughts over the last few days. I would also like to say I'm thinking of my Dad and his loss this week. Love you Dad (Watch him blush) LOL Secondly I would like to apologize for not beingresent today, believe me as this is being read I'm thinking of my Nan. I can hear her my Nans response to me if I told her I was going to leave my new job unannounced and fly home for a few days to attend a funeral, she would say "Tommy don't be so foolish sure they wouldn't even know if you're there." As a child I spent a great amount of time with my Grandparents, I remember whose weekends when myself and Nan would take the bus out to Woolco buying wool lol or brand name sneakers for us boys cause Mom wouldn't. Just joking Mom.... not really lol The time I spent at their house was specail to me; it was a home away from home so to speak. I considered myself a Nanny and Poppys boy when I was small and thinking about it now... I still do. I remember Nan sitting in her chair knitting blankets or hats or sweaters or babies clothes for the church, while Pop and I watched Dallas or Matlock. I remember Sunday afternoons doing puzzles as I waited for Mom and Dad and the boys to come down for dinner and bring me home Sunday night. I remember picking blueberries beside the tracks so Nan could make jam for us. I remember mowing the lawn and her bragging to the neighbors about what great grandchildren she has. There are so many fond memories I have as a child thanks to my Nan. No matter what kind of trouble I got into at home Nan would never judge me or hold it against me, she would just simply ask me to be "a good boy for Nan." As I got older and branched out into other kinds of trouble...lol, I always heard my Nans voice asking me that very same question. As I write this write now I still hear it. Nan and Pop Harnett were the closest people to me outside the "Harnetts from up on the hill" as we were so often called by the neighborhood. They have always been and will always remain a very important part of whom I am and who I will be. I am proud to be a Harnett and feel honoured to have come from such a great family. I hope as I carry on the name they would be proud of me. I love you Nan
To Roy, David, Ronald and Families...So sorry to hear of Aunt Rita's passing. I would always love to hear the stories my Dad used to tell of Rita, Roy and him growing up in Fogo. I am sure there are many cherished memories that you will always have in your heart.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. we worked at the post office together for years and were always good friends. May she rest in peace. My condolences to all her children.
