To Stella, Rick, Wanda and families; So sorry to hear that Reuben has passed away. As you know, I knew him well and have fond memories of him as a child. He was a great softball and hockey player and should be in "The C. B. S. Hall Of Fame" !! He was also the best accordion player that I've ever been in the company of. He will be missed dearly.

Wanda, Rick, Stella and Madison. My thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. I know all too we'll how hard it is to lose a parent and how Mom felt when she lost Dad. In time, you will start to feel a little better each day. Just know that you will never forget his love for you and he will shine through you and the people around you because he was a not only a family man, but a wonderful member of the community. Love to you all. Tina (Dawe) Kightley and family.

Reuben and his family were next door neighbours in Upper Gullies. We all played tiddley, coasted on Scott's hill, skated on the natural ice behind Uncle Allan's and generally enjoyed all our childhood activities. Reuben was "senior" to us and had to clear the ice for sure. He always appeared so full of energy at that time! It is sad when life seems all too short because so many are now living into their 90s and Reuben made early 70s. I did not know him as a father and grandfather but I bet he was great! Please accept my condolences at another one gone from "Windy Hill". Edna and Lilly, so sorry you lost another brother…life is tough.

Stella, Rick, Wanda and Madison we were shocked to hear Reuben had passed, we are not home now and won't be until after the service, but be assured we are thinking of you all. Not only was Reuben a great family man he was a true friend, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one. For years Reuben coached Minor Hockey and I still wonder who enjoyed the many tournaments the most the Parents or the boys, he took his coaching serious but taught the the boys the skills needed to accomplish his goal to bring home GOLD anything else meant you didn't win. Stella accept our deepest condolences and we will visit you when we get home, Take care of each other. Graham and Marion

Stella, Rick, and Wanda....... I couldn't believe it when Mom called me to say Reub had passed. Our families were very close in my younger years and both Reub and Stella were extremely good to me as a little boy growing up. Every time that Reub and I ever saw each other we had the same greeting even the last time I passed by, he would always say " hello Billy Moon " to which I'd respond " hello Reuben Smurph " and he would put on that big infectious smile of his. I bet right now himself and Art Tilley are looking for a team to coach as we speak. He taught a lot of us the game of hockey and a lot of valuable life lessons as well. He will be missed........but I am sure every time I pass Ricks I will see him out front by the fence hollering out " hello Billy Moon ! " God Bless Billy and Family
