I was so shocked to come across this obituary today. Blair and I went through school together, and I will always remember that when I was very little, I knew that when Blair got off the bus, I was the next stop. Therefore one more stop. I thought of him regularly over the years, as I would drive past his house, and wondered where he was. Never did I expect him to be already gone.
My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
Monika

Words cannot express the feeling of loss upon hearing of the passing of my good friend and "brother" Blair. Of all the people I have encountered in my life, Blair was one of the best - a non-pretentious man who believed that life was what you made of it, and no matter how much crap was flung his way he always managed to shake it off and look forward to happier, sunny days. Like most of us, he was a down-to-earth type of person who was looking for his path through life with the least amount of obstructions. I shared in many of his ups and downs, and am glad to say there were many happy times at work and play over the 38 years of knowing him - from our times with Francis in Burnaby to our days under the midnight sun in the Arctic.
Blair loved his family out East, was always talking about them, and wished Alberta was closer to home. He always wanted to bring me back and I was always eager. Now that I'm retired, Bev and I were planning to head that way; I was hoping to see and hang out again and I am sure I will when my time comes. Rest assured, Blair's name will be brought up many times in years to come when all the people who cared and loved him reminisce about his laugh and devil-may-care demeanour. As I write this, I think I hear him playing his guitar and singing Dylan's "Forever Young".
Rest in peace good friend. You'll be always with us. We'll be listening for your tunes that'll be Blowin' in the Wind.

Well Blair, we are going through a surreal time here without you.
As your oldest sister, I remember when I was 10 years of age and Mom and Dad brought you home from the hospital. I was in my element, I thought I had a live doll. In no time you were cute little toddler trolling the house turning everything upside down. You truly were a sweet little boy with a quite a mischievous personality from an early age. On your 7th birthday I was with you at the Sick Children's Hospital Toronto where you had open heart surgery. You demonstrated so much courage even at an early age; my remarkable little brother.
As I watched you grow into a teenager not much changed. You loved being with your friends and in the winters, playing hockey and summers of on your bike with your buddies. Then you went on so many times to be the life of the party.
As an adult you amazed us all. I ask you ,who teaches himself to play the guitar and the mouth organ and yes sing like Bob Dylan. " Like a Rolling Stone " you were getting ready to seek out new adventures and spend most of your adult life in Alberta, where you made more friends and attract so much love. I so looked forward to those telephone calls and on the other end of the line a voice ' hey big sis, its your little baby bro'. You were full of stories and laughter. As much as you loved fun you also loved to take on a task or any job and focus until it was done right.
We don't know why you are not still with us but I am going to quote your favorite artist Bob Dylon "The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind."
We will miss you and until we meet again. Rest in Peace Blair

My brother, Blair, was a fun and lively spirit. He loved music, especially Bob Dylan. He was incredible with a guitar as he taught himself to play. He absolutely loved a good party and always up for some fun. A very giving person and sweet, kind soul he was.
He tickled me endlessly and teased me as big brothers do when we were children. I always looked forward in spending time with him on his visits from Alberta. He would bring me a little present or treat which I fondly remember. We were separated by distance over the past 25 years however his memory will always live on. Farewell big brother and say hello to Mom and Dad for me.
