Passed peacefully away at the St. John's Long Term Care Facility on Sunday, February 15, 2015 of Manuels, age 80 yrs. Predeceased by her parents, James Clarke and Linda Clarke - Thoms, step-father Charles Thoms. Left to mourn her loving husband of 60 years Cecil, daughter Debra, son-in-law Gary Nagle, sisters Sybil (Nath) Slade and Charlotte McDonald, brother Allan Thoms, step-sister, Bertha (Bert) Coish, step-brothers, John Thoms, Roland (Lorna) Thoms, Winston (Olive) Thoms. Also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Shirley spent many years volunteering in the Girl Guides of Canada serving as Area Commissioner. Shirley spent the past 40 years in the CBS Lions/Lioness Club serving as Club President as well as District Lioness President. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, social workers and all of the health care workers, and staff for their superb care given to Shirley during her stay at The St. John's Long Term Care Facility, 3SW, 2NE, as well as the former Hoyles - Escasoni Complex, East 1. Their kindness, love and compassion will never be erased from our memories. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Monday from 7 - 9 pm, Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm, Wednesday from 10 - 12 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2 pm from All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Parish Building Fund, Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp or to a charity of ones choice.
