I have only had the pleasure of knowing Robert for a relatively short time since I started dating Charlie. In that time Robert has only ever showed me kindness and welcomed me in to his home and family. Robert had a wonderful sense of humor which was evident up to his final days even though he had to endure much pain and discomfort in the final weeks. In the past five weeks I spent a considerable amount of time with him in the hospital and hopefully was able to make his time there a little more comfortable (feeding him popsicles, often behind Lucy's back, and keeping the cold apple juice and water coming). During that time, it became evident how much he loved his family and that he was concerned mainly about how Lucy and Judy would manage without him. He was a very gentle man and although he could lose his patience if I didn't understand immediately what he needed or was trying to say, he was quick to say he was sorry and moved on. My only regret is that I didn't have longer to get to know him better. You will be missed and always loved. Rest in Peace Robert.
