Aunt Dar, we are so sorry to hear of Uncle Peter's passing. When I spoke to you the other night you asked if I had a lot of memories of him and I told you yes - I surely do. I have too many to talk about here but will share a few. One of my earliest memories is going to Sears with you and Uncle Peter as a little boy. We were on the escalator and, once at the top, one of my shoe laces got caught and started to pull my shoe. Of course, Uncle Peter being the resourceful person he was, whisked out his pocket knife without hesitation and cut my lace, freeing my foot. I will never forget that. From that point on, I learned that Peter was creative and had a way of doing things one often thought could not be accomplished. I will also always remember Uncle Peter dropping by our house in the evenings, on his way home from work, and always wanting to play with us kids. Another fond memory is when he made stilts for myself and Lori and took turns walking us around the house. I remember thinking it was the best thing ever. When you were in Peter's presence he always had a way of getting a laugh out of you. I think many of his family and friends will share the same sentiment. I don't think in all my years around Uncle Peter I heard the same joke twice. Aunt Dar, when I learned of Peter's passing on Monday, I was without words and felt a great sense of loss. He will certainly be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Even though his passing is so sad, may we find some comfort knowing he is in Heaven telling jokes and making people laugh. I know they must be saying: "Boy, aren't we lucky to be here with Peter!" Please accept our deepest condolences, Aunt Dar.
