Obituary of Victor James Hillyer

Hillyer, Victor James, passed peacefully away on Sept 23, 2015 at the Palliative care unit at the Miller Center surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle of Cancer at the age of 65. Predeceased by his Father Alec Hillyer, Brother Gordon and Father in Law Hayward Parsons. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 27 years Paula. His sons Scott (Cyril Peach), David (Tara Enslow), and his daughter Sheryl (Jason Donovan). His 4 grandchildren Jordan, Alexander, Emma and Skylar. His mother Lorraine, Brother Ian (Lisa), special mother in law Mildred. Special Sister in law Lisa Rodgers (Wayne). Brother in law Wade Parsons (Vera),a very special cousin Susan Sparkes, special friend Sandra and many nieces, nephews and other family members. To special friends Dave and Debbie Porter, Randy and Gail Breen, Tony and Cindy Sharpe, Wallace Pike, and many other friends who are too numerous to name. We thank all those who took time to visit, call and spent countless hours with us especially during his final journey. He was certainly a true ambassador of Newfoundland Hospitality as he met so many people during his days as a motor coach driver for Parsons and Sons transportation, to whom we are very thankful for the kindness and support shown to us during his illness. He was so blessed to have so many people care for him. To the team of Doctors, Dr. Donald Fitzpatrick, Dr. Roxanne Cooper, Dr. Brent Tompkins, and in his final days Dr. William Eaton and Dr. Cheryl Hurley. To the CBS Community Health nurses, and the team of the Palliative Care unit, your care in his final days was amazing. Rhonda Brophy and Amy Martin, the social workers who really helped us all during this difficult time. We thank you for the conversations and support. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday from 5 pm - 9 pm, Friday from 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9pm. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11 am from the James J. Hickey Memorial Chapel, Kelligrews. Inurnment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn's Hill Road, Foxtrap.
