Obituary of Gordon Whitty

It is with sad and broken hearts that the family of Gordon Whitty announce the sudden passing of our loving father/grandfather on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the age of 73. Predeceased by his loving wife Sylvia Whitty(Dec 2015). Gordon will be greatly missed by his loving children, Daughter Joy(Tony); Sons: André(Jennifer), Deion(Vivian) and Adam; his Grandchildren, which were his pride and joy: Evan(Brandy), Taner, Nathan, Jade, Reid, Kate and special fur buddy Gus, whom he adored. Also special Brothers in Law Calvin(Pat) and Harold Porter. As well as many other family and friends. Special Thanks to Dr. Fox, Dr. Manning and all the nurses of the Health Sciences Center for their comfort, compassion and support during Gordon's short stay. Gordon was a dedicated employee with the Town of Conception Bay South for 30 years, he retired in 2013. His last 20 years with the Town he served as an Animal Control Officer and that's where his passion was, he loved animals dearly. Resting at Hickey's Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Monday, August 29th 7pm-9pm. Tuesday August 30th 10am-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Hickey's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday August 31st 11 am. Interment in Topsail(St. Thomas of Villa Nova) Roman Catholic Cemetery, Topsail. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory to the SPCA or an Animal Shelter of choice.
