Very saddened to hear of Morris' passing. Unfortunately we did not get to know Morris well because of our less frequent trips to CBS and to the fact that when we did, you were most likely out in Clarenville and Bishop's Falls working. But as Glenda prefaced in her Facebook message, we feel like we have known him for a long time. This has come as a result of your Facebook postings. Your were so fortunate to have such a wonderful husband. He had such a love of the great outdoors. They say that a dog is man's best friend; reciprocally speaking Morris was dogs' best friend. There is absolutely no doubt that he was and is your best friend. From your Facebook page we have definitely learned a great deal about you. He was so fortunate to have you as his best friend. During Morris' battle with that demon disease you stood faithfully by him, doing everything in your earthly power that you could to care for him. You have shown such strength of character; Morris greatly appreciated this and acknowledged it in his self written obituary. You were so close! We equally witnessed your growing faith; your ability to meet head on whatever obstacles his sickness threw your way. With such a faith the hymn “God will take care of you” comes to mind. We know that this faith will keep you strong for today and for the days that lie ahead. We know you will find consolation in the fact that Morris' pain and suffering is over. As a result of his “getting ready” he is now in a much superior place walking in God's garden waiting for the time when you will reunite. To Morris's family and loved ones, Firstly, I am so sorry for your loss. Sadly, I never had the opportunity to meet Morris, even though we did share the same great grandfather, There are no words at times like this, my hope is that time will help to heal your pain. Dear Joyce & Ron I was so sad to hear of the passing of your son-in-law. Even though I never had the privilege to meet Morris, I have many fond memories of the Porter and Rowsell family. Please be assured that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and especially Kelly, during these days. To the Power family, My sincere condolences on the passing of Morris. I knew him years ago while we were in school. I followed his career and saw him in some news articles when his good work with Correctional Services was being covered. May he rest in peace.
