Dear Emmie, My heart goes out to you on the loss of your much loved husband. You were such a happy couple and enjoyed life to the fullest. I will miss seeing him out around the yard as I'd go by, having lived near him all my life. He always had a smile and a wave. Rest assured that you will all be together again and I'm sure right now he is filling in my Dad (his lifelong friend)on all the news and is probably got his many friends there together for a good game of cards. God comfort you as you go through this sorrowful time. Sincerely, Barb & Harold Coffin

So very sad to hear of Lev's passing; I have such fond childhood memories, having lived across the road from him for the first half of my life! Have you ever seen anyone with so much wood cut up and neatly stowed? He would always hold up his hand in greeting, whether you were coming or going from the house; I can picture him now leaning out the dutch door of the barn, always a smile and a word or two. In years gone by, you'd see him on his tractor, getting the ground ready for vegetables, with a dog nearby, probably a cat or two hanging out, watching... I remember one winter when I was a teenager, taking the turn from Baird's Lane onto Levi's Place (aptly named) much too fast on Dad's Trike. Unable to negotiate the turn, I rolled the machine into Lev's fence and broke down a big portion of it! I remember telling him I would fix the fence and apologized profusely. He simply smiled and said, 'Don't worry about the fence. I am just happy you are okay.' Well Em, Lev is 'okay' now - no more pain or sickness. Treasure your memories of him - I will.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Eason's passing. Growing up on Greenslade's Road, I have fond memories of him out in his garden - working his 'bit of ground' or building up his store of firewood. It's been a few years since I lived on Greenslade's Road, but my husband and I normally bring our daughter to trick-or-treat there at Hallowe'en. A few Hallowe'ens back, when our daughter was about four years old, I remember her looking up at me and pointing to Mr. Eason's tidy home... saying, "Mommy... are we going to Mr. LEAF's house?" Sincere condolences to you all. You'll be missed, 'Mr. Leaf'. Jennifer (Kennedy) Hughes
