Obituary of Kevin Power

Kevin Martin Power August 16, 1962 – December 20, 2019 Age 57 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband and father, Kevin Power, on December 20, 2019. Kevin passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Kevin was a devoted husband, a dedicated father, a loyal employee of Newfoundland Power, a grandfather, a brother, and a friend to many. His greatest pleasures in life included spending quality time with his family hiking and enjoying the outdoors, his work, and keeping active with his three dogs and best companions, Bailey, Hali, and Jersey. Kevin’s numerous talents along with his permanent positive attitude, phenomenal work ethic, and unwavering dependability made him truly one of a kind. Even facing illness, he demonstrated motivation and strength to ensure each day was productive and meaningful. One of Kevin’s most inspiring quotes that resonates with us the most is; “I love the potential in every morning and the vulnerability of not being in control. Onward each day.” Predeceased by parents Evelyn and Harold Power, and his sister Ann Marie. Left with fond and loving memories are his best friend and wife Jeanie of 32 years, daughter Laura, sons Mark (Vanessa) and Ryan, grandson Brendan, brothers Gerard (Pamela), Adrian (Susan), Ron (Dawn), Brian (Michelle), sister Sylvia, special mother-in-law Elizabeth Crocker, and many friends, family, and coworkers. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff, friends, and family members who provided care and compassion throughout his journey.
