I had the pleasure of working with Janet in Executive Council ... we started out as co-workers but quickly became friends ... she was just that type of person... although we lost contact over the years, I will smile when I think of her. I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Janet’s passing.I knew Janet through Elections NL. She was one of the best , always there with her most vibrant smile to give advice and help wherever she could. She was a go to person for many of us working in the field . My heart aches for Aunt Marie, Brendan, Gerard, Andy, Mary Ann, Joseph and John for the loss of their sister/daughter, Janet. I cannot imagine the pain and grief that you are feeling which is so unbelievably compounded with the recent loss of your baby sister, Maria.
I am so grateful to have reconnected with Janet over dinner the last time I was home. It was so much fun reminiscing about our school days. Her face would beam with pride and love every time she mentioned her nephew Ryan’s name. It was clear how much she loved him. She is with her baby sister now and together they will watch out for him. I remember with special clarity at Immaculate Conception School... Two grades in one room.We were paired up in literature class. I was older and I remember she spelled Hans Christian Anderson's name ' Hands'... I don't know if I corrected her but I remember details from my childhood. Polite and pretty with dimples..Rip.

I was both saddened and shocked to hear of Janet's passing. I knew her as a result of working with her for a number of years. She was hard working, knowledgeable and professional in her work. She was well liked by colleagues and always demonstrated collegiality in the workplace.
While I was not familiar with her personal life I was not surprised to hear others say family was important to her and that she was always there to show helpfulness to and compassion for those around her.
To her family my deepest condolences. May she rest in peace.

No matter how you were feeling you couldn’t be in Janet’s company very long before you were smiling. We worked together. She was a super colleague. I remember Janet when she first came to our house 40+years ago , my Dad thought that she was the most beautiful looking girl he had ever seen , both on the inside & out !!! When I lived in St' John's Janet would come to the house every Friday Night and spend the night with me . She truly was such an amazing person and it sure was a pleasure to have known her . Mary Ann and Lewis Family,
It is with deep regret that I learned of Janet's passing after a valiant health struggle.
I had the pleasure to work with Janet for a number of years in the 1980's at Executive Council. Cyril, John, Fred, Barb, Dora and I maintained continuing contact with her long after we moved on to other things.
Later in her public service career Janet provided invaluable support to me in conducting two Provincial General Elections and a Provincial Referendum. Her strong work ethic and professionalism were exceeded only by her love and caring for family.
May you all find solace in knowing that she is being rejoined with her father and sister. Sorry it is not possible for me to share my condolence in person but Judy and I are thinking of you.

A gentle soul and the most kindest and loving person you could ever meet. Janet was caring, helpful, and always there to lend a hand no matter what. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
