Obituary of Shirley Peach
SHIRLEY MARIE PEACH (ABBOTT) April 30, 1960 – November 25, 2020 peacefully passed away in her sleep at home. Predeceased by brother Jim. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband of 39 years, Leonard, children Corina (Bryce) and Philip (Terri) and grandchildren, Maya and Noah; sisters Rennie, Jean, Anita, Glennis, and brothers Gary, Roy, Mark, Ernie and many extended family members and dear friends. Born and raised in the Goulds, Shirley moved to Conception Bay South with Leonard to raise a family. In 2000, she took an adventure to the great white North, relocating to a small town in the Northwest Territories. There, she worked in one of the local restaurants as a server. Shirley enjoyed life to its fullest and had a heart of gold. She had a fondness for music, and you would often find her humming or singing along to a tune on the radio while she worked. After she moved back to Newfoundland in 2009, she held many jobs and roles over the years; however, her favourite role was grandmother. Shirley took pride in her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and would look forward to socializing with them in person or remotely using Facetime. She loved to cook for family and friends and would not let you leave her house without taking home leftovers, desserts, or a loaf of her homemade bread. A private visitation and funeral service is planned. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory can be made to Diabetes Canada.
