Obituary of John Hillier

Hillier, John Passed peacefully away on January 23, 2021 in the presence of family members. John was born in Bay du Nord. He spent a career at sea with many adventures and retired from Marine Atlantic in 1990. John spent quality time in his retirement with Hazel at their cabin in North Harbour, St. Mary’s Bay. Predeceased by his parents, Enos and Margaret Hillier, wife Hannah (nee Hacquoil), siblings Doss (Genoe), Ruby (Tibbo), Tom and Faye. Leaving to mourn children Rex (Dianne), Eva (Duncan), Don (Violet), Enos (Vicki) and Tony (Darcy), companion and close friend Hazel, sister-in-law Rosabel. Also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Tuesday from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm. Funeral Service to take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Topsail on Wednesday at 11 am. Anyone wishing to attend the visitation or funeral service, please reach out to a family member. Interment at a later date.
