Obituary of Doreen King

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a loving wife and mother, Doreen King, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6th, at the age of 73. Predeceased by her parents: Douglas and Beatrice Hoffe, brothers: Harry and Raymond Hoffe and sister: Marie Watton. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband: Lewis King; children: Elizabeth (Wayde), Debbie (Sheldon),Boyce (Megan) and Tracy (Jason), grandchildren: Adam (Victoria), Andrew, Andrea, Keshia, Justine, Claire, Emily, Faith and Olivia, great grandchildren: Lucas, Sam, Sophia, AJ, Liam and Stephen, brothers: David (Viola), Gordon (Trudy), Lloyd, Garry (Denise), sisters: Eileen (Harris predeceased), Catherine (Garland), Trudy (Dean), brother in law: Nelson, sister in law: Pansy, extended family and a wonderful circle of friends. There will be a parade in heaven to welcome such a beautiful soul- a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who lived an incredible life of faith, love and laughter. She taught us to face life’s challenges with kindness and those lucky enough to have known her will always carry her light. Although our lives are dimmer today by our loss, we have full faith that she is an angel lighting up the heavens. Special thanks are extended to the doctors and nurses at the Health Science Center for their exceptional care and compassion. In light of the current pandemic, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A celebration of Doreen’s wonderful life will take place at a time when her family and friends can gather safely to reminisce and honour her memory.
