Obituary of Greg Kennedy

Passed away suddenly Monday, July 5, Gregory Francis Kennedy at 68 years. Greg is pre-deceased by his parents Mary and Patrick Kennedy, his sister Catherine Kelly, his special parents Annie and Tom Nolan, his wife, Mary Alexius (nee Dalton) and his brother in law Max Toope. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his partner Judy Roy (and family Keri, Lisa, Ciera, Logan), his children Stacey and Greg, his grandson Brandon, his brothers and sisters Linda Toope, Rev. Patrick Kennedy, William (Judy) Kennedy, Bernard Kennedy, Mary (Gerry) Penney and Theresa Kennedy, his brother-in-law Joe Kelly, his many nieces and nephews and his devoted furry friend Miss Moo. Also leaving to mourn are his co-workers with the Commissionaires at Corrections Canada, his fellow Legionnaires, and his large circle of relatives and friends. Greg served 20 years with the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon his return to Newfoundland he joined the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 64, Holyrood where he served on the executive until his passing. Greg was a unique, free spirited individual who lived life on his terms. He had a charismatic and endearing personality that drew people to him. He was loved by many. Greg may have been one of the best pool players in the area and he played darts with fun and sportsmanship. Greg was loved among family and friends simply for who he was and for the joy he brought to others through his humor, his laughter and his love of celebration. We will love him and hold him in our hearts forever. According to COVID restrictions, visitation will be in Hickey’s Funeral Home, Holyrood on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 3 PM – 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from SS. Peter & Paul Church, Harbour Main on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2 PM by invitation only. Internment in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Harbour Main.
