Regina and family, we are so very saddened to hear of Hubert’s passing. I first met Hubert at the GoodLife Fitness Gym. Through time we became great friends. He was a great athlete and shined on the golf course as well. We had a great round on The Black Duck with Hubert where I saw at first hand his great golfing skills. Even gave me some valuable tips to improve my game. Hubert was a wonderful person to all who had the privilege to know him! He will be sadly missed!

To Regina and the Power family;
Please accept my sincere condolences on Hubert's passing. Because of our age difference, we didn't connect on Bell Island, but we did cross paths and break bread together in Sarasota in recent years. I fondly recall his story when as a young boy he spent some time at our house under construction on the East Track to lend a hand by dropping rocks into the basement forms so as to spare the concrete along ( even then he was a helping others !) In later years he regularly made it a point to visit my parents ( Aiden & Madonna ) on his day trips to the island.

I was so shocked to just read of Hubert's passing. We had connected two years ago on fb while I was doing my family tree (Lahey). He was also my brother Bill's best friend during his teenage years on Bell Island. They shared great memories together and he and I also reminisced about them often. I was surprised to hear he had been ill; he hid it bravely, at least from me. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones, and I pray that they will stay strong and keep the memories they have of him close to their hearts. RIP my friend.

Hubert was just not a first cousin but more like a brother to me. We shared a lot of our childhood days as best buddies doing what little boys do just having fun. We got separated by circumstances of me moving away at the age of 15. It was only only 4 years ago we reconnected and I’m so grateful that over the past two years I had time to spend quality time with him.
