Obituary of Janet Andrews

JANET DAWN (TILLEY) ANDREWS

January 2, 1943-October 29, 2021 (Age 78 years)

 

Passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer (since January 2012) and with family at her side on October 29, 2021, Janet Dawn (Tilley) Andrews, precious and dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, companion, aunt and friend.  Predeceased by husband Roland Andrews (2007); parents Warwick and Kit Tilley; infant sister Vera Lorraine; parents-in-law William and Effie Andrews; sister-in-law Patricia Warford; brothers-in-law Jim Baird and Raymond Warford; nephews Roland and Jeffrey (Michelle and Justin) Warford; special friends Joan Coates and Mary Cole. Leaving to celebrate her life and remember her legacy of love and resilience are:  son Roy (LeeAnn) Andrews; daughter Betty (Spencer) Morgan; beloved grandchildren Andrew and Andrea Morgan (Michael Stamp); Morgan (Britney) and Curtis Andrews; and, 11 ½-month old great-grandson, Quinlan (“Quin”) Andrews who she was blessed to visit in Quispamsis, NB for five days during July.  She will also be dearly missed by devoted companion and beloved friend, Norman Tibbo (sons David, Craig and families); cherished sister Kathleen Baird; loving brother Jim (Betty) Tilley and Family; sister-in-law Margaret Ballard (Hugh Aird); brothers-in-law Bill Andrews and Derek Ballard; uncle Charlie Murphy; nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of extended family members and friends. Friendship was an integral part of Mom’s life and she was blessed to have a lifetime of very special friends; together you shared many wonderful times and she treasured each and every one of you.  Thank you. We gratefully acknowledge the phenomenal care and compassion shown towards our mother since the onset of her illness by Drs. F. Scully, J. MacIntyre and K. Grewal; Doctors and Nursing staff of 4 North A, HSC; Ambulatory Treatment Unit Staff, HSC; and family physician Dr. G. Sutton. Visitation will be at Hickey’s Funeral Home (Kelligrews), 570 Conception Bay Highway, CBS on October 31st from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. on November 1st at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (Upper Gullies), 1219 Conception Highway, CBS by invitation only due to COVID restrictions.  Cremation to follow.  Inurnment will take place at 11a.m. on November 2ndAccording to provincial regulations, COVID Passports and identification are required for guest visitation, as well as the church service. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Janet’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society for NL (Multiple Myeloma Division) or Daffodil Place.
