Obituary of Cyril Power

We are saddened to announce the passing of a kind and gentle man, husband, father, poppy, son, brother and friend.  Passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 68. Predeceased by his parents: Ray and Mary Power.  Left with beautiful and loving memories are his wife - "The Ol' Doll" Bun (Bernadette), daughters: Lori Power (Kris Connors) and Jamie Power (Geoff Crummey), precious grandchildren Avery, Josh, Reagan and Jayda; cherished sisters Geraldine (Charlie) Smith,  Carmel (Charlie) McDonald, Patsy (Don) Jenson, and brother Randy Power along with a long list of beloved nieces, nephews and treasured relatives and friends. To know Cyril was to love him.  Remembered by all as the friendliest and warmest person, who would literally give a stranger the shirt of his back.  While soft spoken by nature, he had the funniest quirks that kept his friends and family in stitches.  Cyril had a mischievous sense of humor with a quick wit that always kept you on your toes.  You'd never know what he was going to say next.  He was a genuine person who treated everyone he met equally, regardless of their status.  He was the same person privately, publically and personally , which is rare quality indeed.  His beautiful smile would light up any room.  He will be missed by many.  Special thanks to pharmacist Andrew Collins for his ongoing support, and to nurse Jennifer Codner for her amazing compassion during his last days. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service (by invitation) will be held on Monday, December 20th at 1:00pm at Hickey’s Memorial Chapel, Kelligrews.
