It is with a very heavy heart that I would like to share this note with you today. I had the great pleasure of meeting and being a co-worker of Danielle's during the previous school year at St Francis of Assisi. Strangers we were but with Danielle's out going, caring and friendly personality, it was easy to become friends. Danielle was always shining. She was just so willing to give of herself to her students, to her co-workers, to her family. I miss her smile, her advice, her caring and especially our group chats in the Reading Specialist room. I hope that knowing how her light has touched so many lives and that will continue to live on in her boys, will be of some comfort. My sincerest condolences to Brad, Thomas, James and all the family.

So very saddened to learn of the tragic passing of this lovely young woman. I met Danielle when she taught at Holy Family School. She was a highly skilled and talented teacher who strived to meet the needs of each and every child in her class. She spoke lovingly about her husband and two sons and treated staff members with the utmost respect. I felt that Danielle and I had a special connection as we both grew up in Cape Breton. Sincere condolences to her loved ones.

I have been friends with Danielle for over 25 years. We met in grade 11 and became best friends in our university years. Our group chats will never be the same and our future get togethers will always have a void. Our chats and get togethers were always full of laughter and love, I will miss that laugh, especially when something was really funny. Since I have known Danielle, she wanted to be a mom and nothing meant more to her than Thomas and James. My heartfelt condolences go out to Brad, Thomas, James, Wanda, Adrienne, and Ben.
You were always a great friend to me, I will always love you and miss you!

I am so sorry to hear of Danielle's passing. She was such a kind-hearted, loving friend to so many including myself. We met during our many years of substituting and being replacement teachers. She loved teaching and always had such great advice and humorous stories. She was a friend who you could always count on and I will miss her deeply. I will miss our chats and playdates with our children. My youngest and James became great buddies in Kindergarten and have continued their friendship ever since. We are sending all of our love, thoughts, and prayers to you all during this most difficult time.

I am heartbroken about Danielle's passing. I was lucky enough to work with Danielle last year at St. Francis of Assisi. Every time I walk pass her classroom at school; I will think about her. She was a wonderful teacher who cared so deeply about her students. Last year, I was pregnant, and we had so many chats about how much she loved being a mother. She would tell me how much I was going to love being a Mom too. She would talk at length about how wonderful and important her boys were to her. I can't imagine how hard this must be for them and her husband. My sincere condolences to all her family. Please know she has touched so many lives. I know you will treasure all your memories.

I feel so very lucky to have gotten to know Danielle since meeting her at EPE a few years ago. From the first time we met it was very easy to get to know her and hear wonderful stories about her sweet boys. It's very hard to imagine not being able to have a chat with her especially about our families, our classes and further learning ideas, because I will still expect to see her. She was someone who you would always stop and talk to because her positive energy and passion for things she loved was infectious. She will be greatly missed.
May your many happy memories help you through this most difficult time.
My heart is broken thinking of Thomas and James, Brad and those closest to her - I know that you will still feel her nearby and she will be taking care of you from afar.

I was devastated to hear of Danielle's passing. I have worked with Danielle many years (I have often been the Speech Pathologist in her various schools) but this year she taught Kindergarten so I worked very closely with her. She was always upbeat, energetic and fun to be around. I loved her laugh and enjoyed talking with her. She always cared deeply about the children in her class and wanted nothing but the very best for them. I know from talking to her how much she loved her family and I can't even begin to imagine how hard this is for her precious boys and the rest of the family. Her school families at both Elizabeth Park and Paradise Elementary will not soon forget her. I will have trouble passing her classroom without tears when I get back to school. My deepest condolences to you all. Treasure all of your precious memories - I know I will.

Words cannot express how very sorry I am to hear about Danielle’s sudden death. I was Thomas’ Kindergarten teacher and knew James from the Kinder-start sessions at Holy Family School in Paradise where Danielle was also a substitute teacher at the time. Brad, Thomas, James, and family,
I was so deeply saddened to hear about Danielle’s passing. Danielle has worked at our school over the years and we loved having her back again this year to join our school family. I absolutely loved my chats with her. She was the type of person that you felt you had known your whole life. A beautiful person inside and out. She loved teaching and she loved her sweet family. As I know many have said, her eyes would light up when she spoke of her children. I remember several years ago how delighted she was when our school asked her to be a Roots of Empathy family and she brought Thomas to school each month to participate in the program. She loved coming into the school for the visits and as a staff, we all couldn’t wait to have our turn to cuddle baby Thomas, either before or after the classroom visits in the staff room. I have been thinking about Danielle’s family so much over the past few days. I know the days ahead will be tough but I also know that her husband and boys have been blessed with amazing memories of Danielle. Take comfort in those memories. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Brad, Thomas, James and family. I am so deeply saddened for your loss. While I wasn’t a close friend, I knew Danielle enough to know that she had a magnetic personality, a wonderful sense of humour, and a fierce love for her boys. The boys attended Kids Kampus with my children. I also taught Thomas last year. I remember so clearly our first Parent Teacher conference. She answered her video call from her car. She was parked at the playground, so the boys could have some time to play while we talked. We started off our conference chatting and laughing, about work and parenting, and of course we all (myself, Ms. Holden, and Danielle) beamed over Thomas. I’m sure we went over the allotted time. She was so easy to talk to. In school, Thomas would talk often of the many outings they went on with mom. He spoke about her with such love. It was the sweetest. And if there’s ever a time Thomas or James wants to tell me a story or memory about mom, I will happily listen. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Danielle’s son, James, over the last couple of years at school. He mentioned his mom often, and with the joy in his voice when he did, it was obvious how great she was, Whether they went downtown to “the biggest candy store in the world”, Canadian Tire to see the minion blow up decorations or getting donuts after school every Friday. James always had a story to tell about their adventures and the laughs they shared along the way. My heart aches for both James and Thomas. I hope going forward, they take the happiness felt in those moments and find comfort in knowing that their mom, was nothing short of amazing.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Danielle for a short while, as a teacher to my boy. She invested so much time into making her students feel loved and accepted and frequently communicated with the parents to ensure we were kept in the loop. She went above her teaching role and invested so much of her heart into making sure I knew my son was happy and to ensure he continued to thrive.
We once had a chat about how much our husbands were alike and how much she loved being a “boy mom”. She spoke of her boys with so much love!
She will be missed by so many people who knew her, even those who only knew her for a short time. I’m so thankful we got the chance to know such a beautiful person.
I send my deepest condolences to her husband, her two sweet boys and the rest of her family.

To Danielle's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Danielle and I worked together the passed two years at St Francis and Elizabeth Park, I guess you could say I followed her! She was a wonderful teacher who put her heart into her job but more importantly she was an amazing mother and that was evident in how she spoke about the boys! She always had stories about them on our shared duty days which made duty bearable, I especially loved their tradition of "dount Fridays"! I hope it's those moments that they take comfort in.
I hope in the coming days and months you find strength in each other.
