It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beautiful wife, mother, daughter and sister, Danielle Naomi Guy. Danielle passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 16^th, 2022. She was 42 years old. Danielle or Naomi, as she was known to some was born to James and Ann Doucette in June of 1979. She attended school in Reserve Mines and Glace Bay. While in high school Danielle volunteered every Saturday at the SPCA. Danielle loved cats and would often bring the furry animal’s home to be nurtured. After high school Danielle enrolled in the University of Maine where she earned her teaching degree and later Dalhousie University for her Master’s Degree. She taught in Northern Manitoba and California which speaks to her love of travel. She finally settled in her adopted home of NL with her husband Brad. She taught in NL and began raising her boys, Thomas and James until her passing. Her boys were her life. Naomi loved her visits to Cape Breton and her family, especially Wanda, her sister. They loved to talk for hours about travels and future trips together. Naomi spent her last summer in Cape Breton with all her siblings, something that rarely happened. Naomi was predeceased by her father: James, her brother-in-law: Gordie. Left with fond and loving memories her husband: Brad, her precious  boys: Thomas and James. Survived by her mother: Ann (Roger), sister: Wanda(Adrian), brothers: Jamie, Trevor (Rhonda), Jason and a very special nephew: Benjamin (Nikki) who was like her brother. Also survived by parents-in-law: Ross and Sandra. Sandra being very much like a mother to her, brothers-in-law: Mike (Lisa), Neil (Lori), and Allan (Dale). Also nieces Bayley, Nikita, Robyn, Jill, Hailey, Jesslynn, Jaedyn and by her nephew Marcus. Danielle also leaves behind with fond and loving memories her beautiful students and wonderful co-workers.  According to COVID restrictions, a private visitation will take place in Hickey’s Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday, January 20^th, 2022 from 10 AM – 12:30 PM by invitation only. Funeral service will take place in Hickey’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 20^th, 2022 at 1PM by invitation only. NL Vax Pass and identification are required to attend the visitation and funeral service. Donations may be made in Danielle memory to the School Lunch Program.
