Many in CBS will remember Charlie from the heyday of the Avalon Club in Long Pond, and, later, from his activities at All Saints Parish of CBS. Charlie spent most of his last two years at Heritage Square Retirement Living in Long Pond, and he always spoke highly of the caregivers and other staff he interacted with at Heritage. We are also very grateful to Dr.Jatin Morkar and his health care team at the Health Sciences Centre who attended to Charlie from his admission to ER until his last hours on 4 North A, and who made time in their busy days to explain Charlie’s complex medical issues and spared no effort to make his life easier. We are grateful, too, for the extraordinary competence and compassion of the EMTs, social workers and nurses of HSC, who, even in the face of this relentless and tiring pandemic, consistently provided world class care for Charlie in the final weeks and hours of his life.
