Dear Tony,
I should be embarrassed to be only connecting with you on the occasion of your mother’s passing. I hope you will forgive the lapse in time. I was casually reading through death notices looking for someone else when I came upon your terribly sad news. It’s interesting all the same that I’m writing you now since I had only driven by your old house several times a few weeks back and of course I could not help recalling you and our solid friendship when we were both younger.
I’m so sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. She was an incredibly kind, solid, decent and respectful woman. I’m sure all of you feel a tremendous loss and are truly missing her. her. Her children were her pride, joy and delight. Your house was always such a welcoming place and both your parents were always kind, generous, and interested in everything happening in our various lives.
I was particularly impressed when my older daughter was in grade 5. She had “project” on Wales. Of course, with nowhere else to turn, I called upon yiur mother for help. In the end the project was a real hit. That’s only because your parents cleaned their house out. There was music, poetry, books photos, recipes clothing and even some artistic creations. Your mother’s went so far as to call us several weeks later to see how the project was received. She was delighted at the outcome.
I’m sure you are hearing many many stories similar to this one these days given the hundreds of children who passed through her care over the years. Both Cindy and myself are sending you and your family our sincere sympathy.
I hope you are well and that life has been kind to you. Like I said, the memories are always pleasant and the wishes consistently warm.
All the best my friend,
Al Antle

Alan & family
It is difficult to find the words that say how we feel. Ann was a special friend, a real lady. We really had good times together both here and in Florida, jigs dinners and lots of chit-chat. Her family was her life line, especially Dan & Phil. When a mother in law says her daughter in law is special, “wow” what a great relationship.
The love for her three great grand kids was fantastic , to here them call to GG was a masterpiece in her eyes. We were privileged to have Ann as our friend over the last 25+ years. We have lost a special friend but heaven has gained an outstanding person and a social butterfly that we will miss immensely.
Enjoy your drink of scotch Ann, you’re not driving home.
Clara & Harold Spracklin.

Alan & Family,
We were very saddened to hear of Anne’s passing. She was truly a special lady, and we all have wonderful memories of her, from the five years we lived next door to you. You were both so kind to us while we lived there and we thought of you as our “Away Family”! , The children thought of Anne as their “Newfoundland Grandmother”, and she did so many special things for/with them., that they still talk about. We hope that the wonderful memories you shared together will help to comfort you in the difficult days ahead.
With Love ,
Nancy, Barry, Lauren & Ian

I am so saddened to hear of Anne’s passing, Phil and Dana. Your mom was a special woman who brightened the room when she entered.. and was a classy lady!
It was through your mom that I came to know you, Phil and Dana. I remember her setting me up to go to a Halloween party at the TSC with you both. That was when she worked at moms daycare, Wishingwell daycare centre. My but she was great with the children! I learned so much from her and how she handled the children. She was so gentle and caring and loving to the children and she was a real role model for me.
I know the loss of losing a dearly loved mother. But I also know the comfort in believing that your mom is now wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus. May you come to find comfort in that too in the coming days ahead. My deepest sympathy for your loss and please know that I am thinking of you and sending my love. I will keep your mom and you all in my prayers.. Love and hugs, Cathy.
