I am saddened by Tolson’s passing. I have many wonderful childhood memories of time spent with Tolson, playing pick up softball in the garden, bonfires on the beach, playing table tennis and of course practicing for the Odd Cods. As adults time and distance took its toll and our paths crossed infrequently, but when they did, Tolson always made me feel like it was just yesterday that we had seen each other and sat and talk. Condolences to all the family and friends. I met Tolson years before I started working with him at HMP, he was moose hunting with my uncle Jim in Cape Broyle and his little red trike got stuck in a bog hole. Tolson let out a roar and not only pulled the trike out of the bog but he threw it about 10 feet up the marsh. I was in awe after that and I still am, courageous to the end....."and thats it".....Rest in Peace friend

To the entire family; With a heavenly ladened heart I write this tribute to my close friend Tols with whom I shared many blessed memories within the bygone era of our community life. Always a treasure to companion with whether it be snowmobiling, playing softball, darts or trouting. Tols played shortstop with our Upper Gullies minor teams and it was his incredible arm that pounded the padding out of the palm of my treasured Cooper Model 240 Black Diamond glove when I was the receiver at first base. Many fond recollections have flooded my mind all day and there are no bad ones, not even any quarrels to recollect. Rest In Peace my dear friend. You were one of Upper Gullies’ finest sons and I, for one, will never forget my close friendship with you. My heartfelt condolences are sent to his family. We were all so blessed to have been in this gentleman’s company. Where you are now, with our Lord, there is no more suffering or tribulation….only bliss.

To Jerry, Jackie and all the Scott family.
Tols was like a member of our family, just as you are, and will be dearly missed. He was indeed a great guy with a heart as big as his personality and it was always great time to spend time with him.
The world is better place for having him in it and we can be thankful that he touched our lives.
Wish we could be there to support you in person but rest assured you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to Tolson’s family and friends - you have lost a good husband, father and grandfather. I worked with Tols for many years at HMP. We had a lot of laughs, a strong friendship and he was a good guy. Years ago I had put on some weight and was looking for some advice on how to loose it. I asked Tols, do you think if I starting running around the lake will I will lose a bit of weight? He said to me, I don’t know if you will lose any, but you certainly won’t put any more on. I haven’t seen you in a while old friend, rest easy.
