Obituary of David Butler
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Butler, at the age of 74 years on March 9th, 2022. Predeceased by his parents: Albert Butler & Flora (Bishop), parents-in-law: Samuel Peach & Elizabeth (Lawrence), sister-in-law: Barbara Peach, niece: Jennifer and son: Jayden Cairns. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife: Barbara (Peach) and his children: Renee (Rahul), Sonia (Mike) and Scott (Patti), 7 grandchildren: Shyla, Olivia, Justin, Sarah, Samantha, Liam and Logan, sister: Marion (Kevin), brothers: Bert (Joan), Boyd (Jeannette), brothers-in-law: Bob, Terry (Karen), sisters-in-law: Helen (Cyril), Shirley (Barry), Rosalind (Roger), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who meant the world to him. He was blessed with a large circle of family, friends and acquaintances who will no doubt miss his loving nature and spontaneous sense of humor. Throughout his life, David received many tributes for his community service while remaining humble and never forgetting the team that supported him through the many community initiatives he took on. The construction of the Old Comrades building, (a recreation centre for the youth) and the restoration of the All Saints Church were among the projects that he took much pride in. Friday night planning and phone calls to all the Old Comrades to get the work party together to do the Saturday building maintenance will surely not be the same without him, nor will the weekly visits to the local businesses to secure donations for the food bank. His legacy of unconditional love, community service, compassion for others and his willingness to always lend a hand will surely continue through the example he set for his children and grandchildren. He always said to practice what you preach and his life was a wonderful example of that. We could not have asked for a better teacher. We extend a special thank you to all of our family and friends who have shown their support over the past few days. Your phone calls, in home visits and all the delicious food and treats has meant the world to us. A funeral service is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at 2:00 pm at All Saints Parish, Foxtrap.
