My heart goes out to the family and I'm struggling to find the right words Whether it was the softball field, the hockey rink or his garage on Fleming street fixing up the many vehicles he repaired for me over the years. I always respected his viewpoint and knowledge. Forever the coach and offering his thoughts on how to better execute the task at hand and would challenge your viewpoint to ensure you had considered all the aspects. Not sure why the good lord chose Dwayne on that day cause I still ain't got all the angles figured yet.. Rest in peace my good friend...

Martin et Darlene nous avaient réunis en avril 2015. Nous avions pris la route de la Floride pour allez voir un match des Canadiens vs Panthers avec Rubberboot. C'est là-bas que notre amitié avec toi et Glenda à débuté. Des fous rires nous en avons eus! Nous en gardons des bons souvenirs! Le CH nous avaient réunis à nouveau en avril 2019, chez nous à Montréal et c'était encore du bonheur d'être avec toi, notre ami qui portait fièrement le chandail et la phrase en français «Plie le coin», tu vas nous manquer! Tu es parti trop vite mais on te fera pas partir comme ça; Tu vas rester dans nos têtes et nos cœurs.
Martin and Darlene brought us together in April 2015. We had taken the road to Florida to see a Habs vs Panthers game with Rubberboot. That's where our friendship with you and Glenda began. We had giggles! We keep good memories! The CH had brought us together again in April 2019 at home in Montreal and it was still a pleasure to be with you, our friend who proudly wore the jersey and the sentence in French «Plie le coin», we will miss you! You left too quickly but we won't make you leave like that; You will remain in our minds and our hearts.

Dear Glenda and family. Words cannot express the sadness of Duane’s passing. He was one of the most genuine souls I’ve ever met. It was such a pleasure to call him my teammate but much more to say he was a true friend. Despite him being a Hab fan we found we treasured the same things in life .. family .. cooking .. music and the odd beer.

So sorry for your loss. Our deepest condolences to you (Glenda) and all the family. Hang on to your memories during this difficult time.
Hutch and I became teammates in the mid 90s. We became friends the same time. I admired his competitiveness and fair play on the ice. I could always count on him to help out when organizing the trip to the Cy Hoskins tournament in Gander. After the games we would sit back in the room with Frank Crotty and listen to a few tunes supplied by Garry Collins. Great memories.
We had a chat about a month ago. It was the usual conversation about hockey but I remember it was more about his family and my family. He asked about Sandra and the girls. He told me all about Glenda and the kids. It was easy to feel, he loved you all.
When going thru life, people come and go. I can truly say Hutch stayed. He was the type of guy you could count on. He will always be my friend and teammate.

I didn't know Duane personally but I have had a long standing friendship with members of his father's family from Tilton. When I hear of the Hutchings family having to face difficult times such as is the case right now, my heart is full of sympathy for them. My whole family is shocked and saddened to hear about Duane's tragic passing. We have so many memories of growing up together across the street on Connemara Place in Wedgewood Park. Duane always had an impish grin on his face. There were so many good times. I'm sure his mom Cammy and next door neighbor Carl Allwood were there to meet him. I have very fond memories of Duane growing up on Connemara Place. I have a life-long friend in his beautiful sister, Tammy. He put up with alot from us kids tormenting him to drive us here and there. A posse of kids always traveling to watch his soccer games, hockey games...they always had room for us and he gave his time freely. I remember 'hockey night in Canada' at the Hutchings home and the feeling of togetherness and love. Always a great laugh. An incredible family, I am forever grateful for being a small part in a lot of love. Truly heartbroken by this loss.

I knew Duane from Mary Queen of Peace and Gonzaga and had the pleasure of having him as a friend and playing many games of hockey, he was by far one of the best I ever played with and made some good high school memories with him.
