Obituary of John A. Langdon
Passed away peacefully at his residence, in the arms of his loving daughter, Jocelyn, on September 20th, 2022, age 79 years. John is predeceased by his parents: Lawrence and Gertie Langdon, brother: Ralph Langdon and sister: Ettie Piercey. John was born in Seal Cove, Fortune Bay on August 14th, 1943, and was the son of Lawrence and Gertie Langdon. On May 24th, 1967 he married the love of his life, Myrtle Piercey. Together they had a beautiful daughter Jocelyn, who was John’s pride and joy and the apple of his eye. John spent most of his life in Seal Cove, Fortune Bay where he worked as a fisherman to support his family. In 1995 he and Myrtle moved to Foxtrap and ran a very successful business, known in the community as Myrt’s. He loved his family and can be certainly acclaimed as the ideal husband, father and perfect grandfather. His passion was hunting, fishing, and spending his summers at the Irish Loop Resort with Myrtle. John will always be remembered for his kindness to others and genuine concern for his family. Leaving to mourn his wife: Myrtle, the love of his life for 55 yrs, daughter: Jocelyn and husband Tom and precious grand-daughter: Melissa, C.B.S., brother: Clayton (Gladys) at Seal Cove, Fortune Bay. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 from 3:30 pm – 7 pm. Funeral service in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel, Kelligrews on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at 11 am. The family respectfully asks that masks be worn to attend the visitation and funeral service.
