Mom grew up on Bell Island and moved to Holyrood at an early age.  She started working in the hospitality sector where she worked for over 50 years.  Most of those years were spent working at the Beach Cottage and The Tea Garden, alongside Pat & Harry Hamlyn and Marie & Brendan Hunt, who became lifelong friends.  Our family has heard so many stories over the years of mom's joy at doing her work and being a perfectionist within her chosen profession.  After ending her working career, mom spent much of her time with her family and the many grandchildren she would always say she was so lucky to have.  Mom, a long-time member of the Star of the Sea association, was an avid dart and card player throughout the years, and was well known for being a fierce competitor at both. She was also not too bad at cutting a rug on the dance floor either.

A special thank-you to the all the doctors, nurses and staff at the St Clare's Hospital in ICU, 7 West and 4 West for their exceptional care.  We would also like to thank Dr. Bragg from Eastern Health Holyrood as well as Zach and the Pharmasave Team, for their continued care over the last 5 months of mom's journey.
