Obituary of Olive Hardy
Olive June Hardy
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our precious mom, grandmother and great grandmother on February 07, 2023.
Olive June (Pardy) Hardy born on October 24, 1926 to Manuel and May (McNeil) Pardy of Cartwright, Labrador. She is predeceased by her loving husband Bert and her amazing siblings Muriel, Blanche, Tom, Leslie and young Manuel.
Our mom began her married life with Bert in July 1947 living in Northwest River, Moose Factory, Mount Pearl, Battle Harbour, Mary’s Harbour, Carbonear and her final home in Upper Gullies. Her kettle was always on, tea buns were made in abundance and an extra place setting was ready at all times for her many friends. She was a skilled seamstress, master berry picker and without a doubt the best cook! Mom enjoyed her backyard garden sharing her produce with all who came by. Her flowers are a testament to her love of nature and all the birds and bees called her garden home. A special thank you is sent to her watchful neighbours as their kindness has not gone unnoticed. Special mention to her ‘fifth’ son – Wayne Miller, a neighbour like no other. Amanda Canning – we thank you with all our heart.
We are left with fond and joyful memories, a legacy of love beyond measure:
Her family John (Barbara), Ted (Natalie), Keith (Tina), Janice (Tom), Robert (Colette); grandchildren Jonathan, Jamie, Beth, Michael, and Katie; great grandchildren Jack, Neil, Olivia, Emily, sweet John, and special sister-in-law Madeline (Hardy) Hall.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Olive’s life will be held at a later date.
We invite you to leave a condolence at www.hickeysfuneralhome.com. Donations in Olive’s memory may be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.
