I was shocked to learn of Bettys passing today. We worked together for many years and I will always cherish the many conversations, laughs and tears we shared together. Betty was an exceptional person, incredible friend with a beautiful soul. The many memories of Betty will always be remembered. She shared so much of her family and especially Luke, her love for each of you was limitless.
When someone like Betty is lost, the lost is so great that there are simply no words.

I just returned from being out of the country to learn of Betty’s passing today. My deepest sympathies to all of the family. I was in Betty’s nursing class and remember her as a quiet, unassuming person with a wonderful sense of humor. We all shared some great times during our three years in training, undoubtably more so because we lived in such close quarters in residence. Keep all your good memories at the forefront to help you through the difficult days ahead. There will be tears, but share a few laughs too, as I’m sure that’s what she would want.
I just watched the recording of her service. What a wonderful tribute.

Aunt Betty….Bebe;
As I sit here writing this its hard to believe that you are gone, well, you are gone
physically and free from the illness that afflicted you but Bebe, you will never be
gone from our thoughts and memories. You will never be forgotten.
Some of my earliest childhood memories always included you. You were always a
part of my life and Renee’s and all of your nephews, Michael, Eric, Adam and of
course Luke. You had no shortage of love because any one that messed with Bebe
was in some serious trouble……Right Luke? You loved us all and we recognize
that. You were an amazing aunt to us all.
You had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone especially your niece
and nephews and great niece and great nephews. Not to mention your incredible
memory for birthdays and special events. We could always count on you to have a
card to recognize these milestones in everyone’s lives. Even though you couldn’t
always be with us, here on the red sandbar, you were always thought of and
always appreciated. Those little gestures, as small as they may have seemed to
you, meant the world to us. Your love and generosity is something we will always
cherish.
I don’t ever recall a time when I came home, that you didn’t make an effort to
come see us and it was always good to see you and get one of your awesome
hugs. I will definitely miss your hugs.
Bebe, you will be dearly missed and we all love you very much. The comfort we
take is knowing that you are with Nanny and Pop.

I was saddened to learn of Betty’s passing. I was a next door neighbour of her aunt, Mrs. Norman , when we both lived at Masonic Park Cottages. Betty was such a kind and thoughtful lady and I always enjoyed time spent in her company. After I moved into a home, I still received many caring phone calls from her. Seeing Betty the way I remember her brought deep feelings of sadness. I did not know her as an adult because I moved away. Growing up with the Kennedy family in the Long Pond church is etched in my memory of a happy childhood. They sat just to the right of us in the same place every Sunday. I vividly remember Mr Kennedy faithfully sitting quietly by the wall. Mrs Kennedy taught me and many others over the years in junior boys class in Sunday school in the space between the front pew and the pulpit. I want to express my sincere sympathy to all the family. I know you have many precious memories. Just wanted to add mine.

It is hard to believe that Betty is no longer with us. We were indeed blessed to have Betty in our lives. Betty was a very caring person who put everyone before herself. Always with a sweet smile and a word of encouragement. I remember how kind she was to Mom (her Aunt Lilly) when I couldn’t be there. Mom loved her visits and chats. I have many fond memories of fun times shared with Betty over the years but one I will always cherish is when my sister and I visited her a few weeks ago … and sitting on her bed with her sisters sharing memories, laughs and tears. You are now enjoying all the joys of heaven … rest high on the mountain Betty and we will see you again in God’s beautiful morning. Sending love and prayers to the family in these sad days.

Just some of the memories I have of Betty:
Many nights of talking and laughing in bed until the wee hours of the morning with her and Marilyn..
Going for drives in her new Dodge Demon.
The three of us camping all around Newfoundland in a little tent.
Betty and Marilyn coming to visit me when Aislinn was a newborn.
Betty visiting us when we lived in Aurora.
Betty loving Aislinn and Shauna and filling stockings for them at Christmas time when I moved home after Vince passed away.
I could go on and on but Marilyn we will share many more memories when I come to visit you next week.
Betty was an Angel and now she is singing with the angels.
She was one of the sweetest people I ever knew. Always smiling, never a bad word about anyone, so very kind and gentle. I loved her and will truly miss her.
