Obituary of Elizabeth Kennedy
Kennedy, Elizabeth (Betty) Jean
It is with broken hearts and precious memories that we announce the passing of our wonderful sister, aunt, and princess on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the age of 72. Predeceased by her parents: Sam and Alma (nee Porter) Kennedy of Long Pond. She leaves to mourn her five siblings: Jim (Freda Bond), Stan (Yvonne Stanley), Marilyn (Barry Dunn), Faye (Ira Bowering), and Barry. Also left with lives filled with gratitude and love are five nephews and one niece: Ron Kennedy (Doreen Pippy), Renee Kennedy (Randy Mullins), Michael Dunn (Jennifer Aitken), Adam Dunn (Lorianne Hawdur), Eric Dunn (Michelle Orlandi), and her treasured prince Luke Kennedy. Betty also leaves four great nephews and two great nieces: Larkin, Lance and Lincoln Kennedy, Ethan Dunn, Grace Mullins and Taylor Pippy. Betty also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.
We send thanks to all family, friends, and neighbors who provided help and support during this time. Thank you to Doctors Lynn Verge and Russell Dawe. Special thanks to Jennifer Codner, her palliative care nurse, who went above and beyond to see to Betty’s comfort. Very special thanks to our cousin, Trudy Bussey for her care, compassion and help, to Jodi and Jeff Dawe who have shown such kindness to Betty over the past years, and to the Morgan Group of Companies for their consideration, kindness and generosity.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, CBS on Monday, February 20, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Tuesday, February 21, from 2:00 – 7:00 pm. A celebration of Betty’s life will take place on Wednesday, February 22, at 11:00 am. The service will take place at and be livestreamed from the Salvation Army Church, 331 Conception Bay Highway, CBS, followed by interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Readers Hill Road, CBS.
